Yardwork

I have been container gardening. Tomatoes and green bell peppers. I mentioned to my mom that I kinda wanted to to grow those items this summer, and she thoughtfully got me started.

The whole process has been experimental, really because I tend to kill plants dead. Dead dead dead. I have three indoor plants on my piano that have survived about two years. They should start a reality show about them, because they are alive and that is so amazing.

So here it is. Oh wait. This first pic is what surprised me when I was watering things the other day.

snake in the grass

I spent 20 minutes on the internets trying to identify this snake. Apparently it doesn’t exist and I imagined it so hard it appeared on my camera by magic.

lines of two

The line-up. One side is tomatoes. One side peppers. Some are doing better than others. I moved them to the middle of the yard, because I had them by the side of the house, and apparently that part of the yard is reserved for the ants of doom. It was too much just to water the dang plants.

You may notice the smooth sandy surface they are resting on, and the small dirt hill in the background. It can be explained by saying that my brother Peter spent several weeks digging up and repairing our sewer drain field. Huge thanks to him, he saved us a ton of money and received very little in return other than the satisfaction of knowing the crap in our house is going in the right place, finally.

Back to the gardening…

better boys

I believe these are “better boys.” after reading up, I think if I have any success with these I might try some Roma tomatoes, I understand they are better for sauces.

bells

And these are sweet green bells. I Love me a sauteed bell pepper. I’m already salivating at the thought of eating these on a Philly cheese steak.

That’s my gardening. When things look different, I’ll show you.
