Does not play well with others…
I am about to make a rare comment on someone of celebrity status.
This is a 9 year old girl. She is out in public. She dressed herself.
Why didn’t her mother stop her before she went out the door? No, scratch that…why didn’t her mother stop those articles of clothing from entering the house to begin with?
Granted, I have a two year old who occasionally likes to assert her opinion on what she’s going to wear today, and it doesn’t always “play well together.” BUT SHE IS TWO.
This nonsense is inexcusable.

She looks like she stepped out of a Fancy Nancy book. Which I was just compelled to read by my 8-year-old cousin. Who would absolutely dress exactly like that if permitted. She wanted to wear a pair of white, glittery, be-flowered high heels with her shorts to the library.
It is ridiculous, but one’s will never again have the self-confidence and bizarre fashion sense one had as a child, so I’d probably find it difficult to squelch.
Unless my child ended up being as obnoxiously precocious in sartorial matters as Matt Weiner’s son.
